Online Learning

New Site for Distance Enrichment Learning

I have created a new site specifically for distance learning. You are still welcome to use these links for enrichment, but please visit the new site for instructions on how to download an app and play a game to earn points. https://sites.google.com/sandi.net/steamteam/home

Below you will find multiple links in a variety of areas for online STEAM enrichment learning. Some of these I have already set up accounts with for students, depending on the age. I will be updating this page as I find more stuff. I am trying not to repeat the sites that are already mentioned on the district page. You can also use the Symbaloo page on this site. Symbaloo is also available on the Vista Grande website.

mailto:[email protected]Check out my ongoing germ and bread observation/science experiment.

Don’t forget to check out my LINKS PAGE also!!

If you need information on how to access Google Classroom, I have a post on the student page on the Vista Grande website. You can access that post here.

I will be continuously uploading new stuff, so make sure you come back to check out the latest links and information.

If any parent or student at Vista Grande wants their username or password for any accounts I have set up, please reach by emailing Mrs. Allard at [email protected]. Many of them can be logged into through district ID and password. I have set up accounts through Google Classroom, ClassDojo, SeeSaw, and more.

Science

I have set up a free account to Amplify Science. It is NOT set up for work turn-in online, but is an adoptable curriculum that can be tried out. There are shared logins for each grade level. This is also a comprehensive curriculum that some districts have adopted for NGSS. I also have middle school login information if anyone wants a challenge or has older brothers and sisters. Please email me at: [email protected].

Get to the website through this link – learning.amplify.com, and then login with the following usernames and passwords:

  • Kindergarten – username: BPRBX  password: one-mule9
  • First Grade – username: GGWXG  password: fit-bison7
  • Second Grade – username: MMLDX  password: busy-carp3
  • Third Grade – username: DZCXR  password: pink-toad0
  • Third Grade Benchmarks – username: HPPPV  password: wise-wasp9
  • Fourth Grade  – username: MVTWF  password: wise-coral
  • Fourth Grade Benchmarks – username: NPNXK  password: nine-mice6
  • Fifth Grade – username: FCLJF  password: extra-ray5
  • Fifth Grade Benchmarks – username: HQHXS  password: new-yeti8

EEI Curriculum

I have ordered a few of these units for kinder and first but haven’t used them yet. You can access them here.

Technology

  • Students were introduced to Google Sites. If they log in through their district user id and password, they can access their Google Site they started and work on it from home.
  • Tinkercad – see below.
  • Teach yourself how to use OneNote – use it for science and engineering notebooking.
  • Tynker
  • Tutorials on Various Platform (good for teachers)

Tinkercad

Tinkercad is a fun program to learn. It is 3-dimensional designing program. For Tinkercad, I had to set up separate classroom accounts (usually I do things by grade level). Students may have to login using their district account. Each room has a specific link, and then should use their first name and last name run together (eg., kimberlyallard). Some students were given a “nickname” with their name and animal, but I changed them all to first and last names like the example. If you have trouble getting in, you can email me. SOME classes did this during our extra enrichment rotation. Other classes I have not had a chance to introduce this to.

Code.org

Additionally I have previously set up code.org lesson for students to work on. There is a separate login per grade level. Students need to remember their picture login (depends on grade level) or their secret words. If you want access and don’t remember login, you can email me as well.
